Workflow Steps
Step 1 - Define Requirements & Create Scorecard
A cross-functional team creates a list of "must-have" and "nice-to-have" features, as well as technical and security requirements. These are turned into a weighted scorecard.
Step 2 - Identify Vendors & Shortlist
Research and create a longlist of potential vendors. Send out a Request for Information (RFI) to narrow this down to a shortlist of 3-5 vendors.
Step 3 - Conduct Demos & Score Vendors
Schedule scripted demos with each shortlisted vendor, where they must show how their solution meets your specific requirements. The team scores each vendor on the scorecard during the demo.
Step 4 - Reference Checking & Selection
Conduct reference calls with existing customers of the top 2 vendors. Use the final scores and reference feedback to select the winning vendor and proceed to contract negotiation.
