IT Project Request
Manage and track valuable project ideas to improve your company.
Workflow Steps
Step 1 - Submit Project Idea/Request
A business stakeholder submits an initial idea for a new IT project through a standardized request form, outlining the problem to be solved and the expected business benefits.
Step 2 - Initial Business Case Review
A steering committee or PMO reviews the idea to determine if it has strategic merit and warrants further investigation. The idea is either rejected, deferred, or approved for analysis.
Step 3 - Detailed Analysis & Scoping
If approved for analysis, a business analyst works with the stakeholder to develop a detailed business case, including scope, resource estimates, timeline, and financial projections (ROI/NPV).
Step 4 - Prioritization & Portfolio Approval
The fully scoped project is presented to the leadership or portfolio governance committee for final approval and prioritization against other competing projects. If approved, it is added to the official project portfolio.
